oh. ick.

Come to think of it, I dissected a starfish in high school biology class, could I have gotten a better grade? Mmmm.. okay, maybe not. Nevermind... It just looks like a big piece of liver pulled out of some unsuspecting animal.

My kids tell me that they now have the option to either dissect a real creature, or perform a "virtual" dissection on the classroom computers.

WTF?!

YOU. CAN... NOT. BE SERIOUS.

but the fun lies in getting your hands in the squishy internal organs and the opportunity to say, "OH GOD, ick" and "GROSS!" and getting shark guts and the SMELL into your clothes. plus it's not high school unless you walk through the hallways and see 3 dangling opened-up/guts spilling frogs hanging from the ceiling, right? If you turn virtual, what are you gonna get? a picture of a gutted frog hanging from the ceiling? Just doesn't have the same effect.

It's sad.
